Wildlife Division Sasan - Gir (Department of Forest) Gujarat India gets included in World Book of Records

For organizing a mass event of awareness for conservation of Asiatic Lion in Gir and Greater Gir landscape involving the participation of 13 53 991 people.

Sasan: Wildlife Division Sasan - Gir (Department of Forest) Gujarat (State) India has been included by World Book of Records for organizing a mass event of awareness for conservation of Asiatic Lion in Gir and Greater Gir landscape involving the participation of 13 53 991 people including students from different schools, teachers, NGOs and other stakeholders in rallies at multiple venues and took a pledge for sensitization towards lion conservation in a single day on 10 August 2022. 

The record certificate was presented to Dr. Mohan Ram, IFS (Deputy Conservator of Forests) by Dr. Tithi Bhalla and Shri Himanshu Tiwari of World Book of Records along with other guests.

On being recognized by the World Book of Records, Dr. Mohan Ram, IFS was congratulated by dignitaries of international communities.
