World Book of Records (WBR) invites people, across all over the world to make their own record-breaking dream a reality. World Book Records states several types of records it will not accept for ethical reasons, such as those related to the killing or harming of animals. Applying for a record is absolutely open to everyone, no matter where you're from, what language you speak, or how old you are, and we treat all applications with the same degree of professionalism and integrity. That's why we invite participants with the unique talent to apply for one of our existing record titles through Application Form.

If you want to apply for a new record title, kindly fulfill prescribed Application Form. After the submission of an application, it can take up to 4 weeks for us to review it and let you know about the next steps.

WBR's Adjudicators travel the world to provide on-the-spot verification of record attempts and you can hire a judge to attend your attempt. Inviting a WBR Adjudicator is a paid-for service. For further information and to invite a judge, select this option when making an application.

    • Step I Fill the basic information form on the website.
    • Step II WBR team will contact you and send you required information and guidelines on your concerned email-id.
    • Step III Read all the guidelines, terms and conditions before filling the application form. Fill the detailed information about your claiming record.
    • Step IV Claiming record will be forwarded to WBR's Review and Verification Department. A claim will be accepted and approved after the complete process of claim verification.
    • Step V Approval and certification will be provided only after the complete process of attempt verification.


Every Record attempt must be observed entirety by an Independent witness or adjudicator e.g person with high standing in the community, or by a professional in your record attempting field. WBR are able to supply professional adjudicators who can witness your record attempt and make a WBR certificate presentation on the spot, giving you a great PR opportunity. This service is charged on a case-by-case basis. We suggest you make your request early, so any inconvenience may not cause to you.

Record Verification

Signed Statements of authentication by two independent witnesses of some standing within the local community, who have attended the event can confirm the validity of the claim. Where indicated in the individual record breaking attempt rules, an official must be qualified in the subject area.

The witness in his or her own handwriting must sign the statement. If possible the statement must be submitted on the witnesses official letter headed paper and contain their full contact details. The statement must contain the fact that the specific rules relevant to the Record attempt have been strictly followed. They must also explain how the exact results were quantified i.e. dimensions, participants involved and so on.

All forms of available media coverage: Newspaper cuttings, photos, magazine cuttings, and television and radio footage on video/cd/DVD, quality color photographs or transparencies.

Where indicated in the individual record-breaking attempt rules and guidelines, a signed and dated log book, showing that the record attempt has been the focus of constant scrutiny. Time and duration of rest breaks, where relevant, should be indicated in the log. Measurements should be made by suitably qualified individuals and witnessed by the independent witnesses, where necessary. Accurate measuring equipment must be used and all relevant measures must be logged. Failure to provide the requested information can lead to delays in the processing of your claim. Please check carefully prior to forwarding your claim to prevent unnecessary inconvenience.

Certificate Presentation

Any attempt that is successfully accepted as having broken and/or set a record can be awarded an exclusive WBR certificate in recognition of the achievement. It is at WBR sole discretion which records are accepted to be published in The World Book of Records. Editorial decisions of WBR are final.
