Mountaineer & Journalist Kalpana Maharjan of Nepal gets included in World Book of Records - London

Kathmandu: Mountaineer & Journalist Kalpana Maharjan has been included in the World Book of Records for being Female Journalist to climb Mount Everest from both South/Nepal (23 May 2018) and North/China(23 May 2019) sides. She was bestowed with the Certificate amidst a ceremony by Hon'ble Dr. Ram Baran Yadav (Former/First President of Nepal) in the presence of Shri Chiri Babu Maharjan (Mayor, Lalitpur Metropolitan City), Ms. Gita Satyal (Deputy Mayor, Lalitpur Metropolitan City), Shri Sagar Katwal (President, World Book of Records, Nepal) and dignitaries from various walks of life. Honorable Dr. Ram Baran Yadav congratulated Kalpana Maharjan mentioning that she has become a celebrity now and she should also focus on raising awareness on pertinent issues of Global Warming besides her social initiatives. On being recognised Ms. Kalpana Maharjan was congratulated by Shri K.P Sharma Oli (Hon’ble Prime Minister of Nepal) Shri Virendra Sharma (Member of Parliament, England ), Dr. Diwakar Sukul( Chairman, World Book of Records, London), Shri Santosh Shukla (President, World Book of Records), Shri Sagar Katwal(President, World Book of Records, Nepal).
