Dr. Sudhir. R. From Bangalore, Karnataka Gets Included by World Book of Records, London

Dr. Sudhir is known for organizing highest number of free school oral health programs by a paediatric dentist (2,25, 658 kids)

Dentist is a perfect combination of a doctor, engineer and artist. If there is any best designer in the world, it would always be in the form of a dentist. A dentist doesn't just takes out the tooth, but also takes overall care of our oral health which is a vital part of a healthy regime, but unfortunately, the oral health awareness is a topic which is still brushed under the carpet in Indian society. No one goes to a dentist till there is a tooth ache or any whitening needs to be done. Amidst such shallow perceptions regarding oral health, Dr. Sudhir. R. (a paediatric dentist) From Bangalore, Karnataka has been actively taking part in spreading awareness on oral health from last 20 years and has organized and conducted highest number of free school oral health programs. So far he has treated 2 lacs 25 thousand, 6 hundred and 58 kids in 22 years of his work life. World Book of Records, London is astonished and proud to witness such legends working day in day out for the oral health of the country and includes him in its India edition-2022.

According to Dr. Sudhir, the lack of awareness may turn dooming and dangerous for oral health sector, and specially for school going kids. He along with his team has been providing free dental care for underprivileged children in both urban, semi-urban and rural settings. This is not it, they have been able to reach out to the children with special needs as well. The expansion of oral health awareness camps for free in schools has reached the whole of South India.

Dr. Sudhir R. Has personally organised 1043 camps between 2000-2022 through department of paediatric and preventive dentistry DAPM R.V. Dental college and hospital, Rashtriya Shikshana Samiti Trust (RSST) and screened and treated 225, 658 children. The program has functioned effectively in providing cost effective dental screening and treatment across all segments of society from the past 22 years.

The whole sole objective of conducting such awareness camps within schools was to remove the fear of dentists and tooth removal. There were many myths spread amongst parents regarding having eyesight damage when the tooth removal happens. Proper counselling was done and a prior consent was taken by the parents for the child's treatment. By looking at one child getting treated in front of them, the others also got courage and took the step forward. Conducting in such familiar environment eased them out and helped in soothe the fear of dentist.

Dr. Sudhir considers this profession as his only religion where he has been blessed from God with such a noble opportunity to contribute to the health of these underprivileged children and he is all determined to continue doing the same. World Book of Records, London wishes him all the best for his future endevaour.
