Padma Vilochan Shukla, IPS, Superintendent of Police (SP), Rail, Indore, has been recognised for conceptualising two transformative public safety initiatives “HamariSawaari–BharoseWali” and “Patri Ki Pathshala” setting new benchmarks in railway policing and community outreach.
The HamariSawaari–BharoseWali campaign stands as the largest public safety digital verification initiative by the Railway Police, introducing a QR-based auto driver authentication system. This innovative system enables passengers to verify the identity and credentials of auto drivers through a simple QR scan, enhancing transparency, accountability, and passenger safety around railway premises. The initiative reflects a forward-thinking approach, integrating technology with policing to build trust among commuters.
Complementing this digital safety effort, Patri Ki Pathshala emerged as the largest railway safety and ethical awareness outreach campaign conducted by GRP Indore for trackside communities and children. The campaign focused on educating vulnerable populations living near railway tracks about safety protocols, risks of trespassing, and responsible behaviour around railway infrastructure. Through interactive sessions, awareness drives, and community engagement, the initiative sought to prevent accidents and instill civic responsibility from a young age.
Under the leadership of SP Padma Vilochan Shukla, these initiatives highlight a progressive model of policing one that combines innovation, preventive strategy, and grassroots community engagement. By addressing both commuter safety and community awareness, GRP Indore has demonstrated how law enforcement can extend beyond enforcement to education and empowerment. These landmark campaigns reinforce the importance of technology-driven transparency and community-focused safety in modern railway policing.
