Padma Shri Mohammed Rafi,

With paying tributes on the occasion of 39 death anniversary of Padma Shri Mohammed Rafi, Legendary, the immortal  singer of Indian Cinema, Mumbai (Maharashtra)has been honoured posthumously with World Book of Records(WBR) Golden Era of Bollywood Honour being legendary and versatile singer and his matchless contribution in playback singing for Indian Cinema. Shahid Mohd. Rafi (Son of Padma Shri Mohammed Rafi ) was bestowed with the certificate of honour by Shri Prof. Dr. Rajeev Sharma  and Shri Santosh Shukla (President, World Book of Records). On this occasion, Usman Kan (Music Director and Adjudicator- WBR Mumbai), Dr. Kishore Wadhwani (Founder and MD Dabang Dunia), Shri Sandeep Somani, Ms. Devyani Bendre and other were present.

Significantly, Mohammed Rafi was an Indian playback singer and widely considered to be one of the greatest and most influential singers of the Indian subcontinent. Rafi was notable for his voice, versatility and range; his songs were varied from fast peppy numbers to patriotic songs, sad numbers to highly romantic songs, qawwalis to ghazals and bhajans to classical songs. He was known for his ability to mould his voice to the persona and style of an actor, lip-syncing the song on screen in the movie. He received six Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award. In 1967, he was honoured with the Padma Shri award by the Government of India.

On being recognized by World Book of Records, London UK, Shahid Mohd. Rafi was congratulated by Shri Virendra Sharma (Member of Parliament, England), Dr. Diwakar Sukul (Chairman, World Book of Records, London), Shri Santosh Shukla (President, World Book of Records) and other dignitaries from international scenario.
