Bengaluru: Barrister Santosh Shukla (President and CEO, World Book of Records) has announced that Prominent Educator and author Padma Bhushan Smt. Sudha Murthy (Chairperson of Infosys Foundation) of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India has been recognized with the Certificate of Excellence by World Book of Records for being an educator, author & philanthropist and outstanding contribution to Education, social work and philanthropy.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the certificate of Excellence was bestowed to Smt. Sudha Murthy by Ms. Vasantha Kavitha K.C. Reddy (Vice President, WBR, Karnataka) along with other prominent personalities. Mr. Shukla briefed that Certificate of Excellence (CoE) is an authenticated document of the certification division of World Book of Records Limited which is bestowed upon a person, place or thing with maintaining specific standards to serve in a concerned field or respected area of activities.
Significantly, her journey as an educator, author, and philanthropist has been an inspiration to many. She has been actively involved in various social welfare activities and has been a strong advocate for education and women empowerment. Her work has made a significant impact on the lives of many, and the Padma Bhushan is a fitting recognition of her efforts. Distinguished educator, author, and philanthropist Sudha Murthy was awarded the Padma Bhushan 2023 by the government of India for her contributions in the field of social work. The award was presented to her on the eve of the 74th Republic Day of India. This is not the first time that Murthy has been recognized for her contributions in the field of social work. In 2006, she was also awarded the Padma Shri, which is given for distinguished service in many field.
