Raj Bhavan of Madhya Pradesh(India) has been included by World Book of Records, London for Initiative of Largest Simultaneous Book Reading Programme -'Padhe Bhopal' in which 2,33,576 people participated and read the book from 8.30 to 9.15 am at different locations in Bhopal City on 09 October 2018. Honorable Governor of Madhya Pradesh Smt. Anandiben Patel bestowed with the certificate of record by Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sharma (Vice Chairman, World Book of Records), Shri Santosh Shukla (President, World Book of Records), Shri Arjun Dwivedi(Bollywood Actor) and Dr. Rajeev Srivastav. In this ceremony function, Vice Chancellors of various government and private universities, officers of educational institutions and scholars of Higher Education were present and they gave some presentation.
On this occasion, Honorable Governor Madhya Pradesh Smt. Anandiben Patel told that there is no dearth in children but the need of the hour is to provide them opportunities and through changing educational patterns to enhance their moral learning.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sharma (Vice Chairman, World Book of Records) shed light over the importance of book with the instances of Swami Vivekananda and Dr. Radha Krishanan. Shri Santosh Shukla (President, World Book of Records) said that books are our true friends. He announced to provide books of Gandhiji- The Story of My Experiments with Truth to Raj Bhavan. Shri Ajit Kumar (Commissioner, Higher Education, Bhopal)said that this initiative would be continued to rural and semi-urban areas of the states so as to promote reading habits of children. Among others, Smt. Jayshri Kiyavat (Commissioner, School Education, Bhopal) told that Honorable Governor took the right step in promoting reading through this initiative.
