For 25,000 Saplings Planted by Women in Just One Hour
Jaisalmer, Rajasthan – September 22, 2024: The of Jaisalmer Military Station, in collaboration with the 128 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Ecological, Rajputana Rifles, Shri Mohangarh, Rajasthan, has achieved a remarkable feat by planting 25,000 tree saplings in just one hour. This initiative has earned them a place in the prestigious World Book of Records (WBR), United Kingdom, for the most saplings planted by a team of women in an hour. The record-setting plantation drive took place at the Military Station in Jaisalmer and involved hundreds of women volunteers committed to ecological conservation. The WBR certificate was presented to Mrs. Gaurika Bajaj, Chairperson of the FWA, by Dr. Suchita Shukla, an official of World Book of Records. This significant achievement underscores the Military Station's dedication to environmental preservation and community engagement. Mrs. Bajaj expressed her gratitude upon receiving the award and was congratulated by international dignitaries and members of the Central Working Committee. The initiative not only sets a new standard for environmental efforts but also highlights the role of women in driving meaningful change. This record will serve as a global inspiration for ecological awareness and action. A successful large-scale drive requires visionary leadership, precise execution, and unwavering dedication. The recent impactful initiative saw the exceptional leadership and collaboration of four key figures: Lt Gen Raju Baijal, SM, Director General of the Territorial Army; Maj Gen SS Patil, VSM, Additional Director General of the Territorial Army; Shri AK Mohanty, Additional Director General (Forests) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC); and Col Pratul Thapliyal.
