Master Puviatral Periyarselvan from Chennai Achieves World Book of Records Recognition for Swimming Across the Palk Strait

Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India: Master Puviatral Periyarselvan, aged 12, has been honoured by World Book of Records, London, for an extraordinary feat becoming the Youngest Swimmer with 60% Locomotor Functional Disability (Right Leg) to successfully swim across the Palk Strait from Thalaimannar (Sri Lanka) to Dhanushkodi (India).

He accomplished this remarkable achievement on 04 October 2025, covering an approximate distance of 30 kilometers across the challenging stretch of the Palk Strait. In recognition of this inspiring accomplishment, World Book of Records certificate was formally presented to Master Puviatral Periyarselvan by WBR Chartered Officer Ankita Shah. This milestone stands as a powerful testament to his determination, endurance, and courage, inspiring millions across the nation and beyond.
