Goa, India — In a landmark moment for Goa’s spiritual and cultural identity, the “Samudra Aarti” (Sea Aarti) ceremony held along the state’s coastline has been officially included in World Book of Records, recognising it as a unique spiritual initiative with global significance. The honour was conferred during the Goa Spiritual Festival 2026, a major gathering aimed at celebrating devotion, tradition, and unity.

The recognition ceremony saw the esteemed presence of His Holiness Rajrajeshwar Guruji from London and World Book of Records Chartered Officer Dr. Tithi Bhalla, giving spiritual weight to the occasion as the World Book of Records accolade was presented to Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, in acknowledgement of his support for spiritual tourism and cultural enrichment in the state.

The five-day Goa Spiritual Festival, drawing thousands of devotees and dignitaries to Calangute Beach, has become a vibrant platform showcasing Goa’s evolving identity as a destination for spiritual harmony and cultural heritage. Activities throughout the event included mass yoga and meditation sessions, sacred observances, and devotional gatherings emphasizing peace, unity, and inner wellbeing.

Union Cabinet Minister Chirag Paswan also attended the festival, adding political and national prominence to the event, and was warmly welcomed upon his arrival in Goa. His participation underscored the growing acknowledgement of spiritual gatherings as significant cultural landmarks.

Organisers and attendees hailed World Book of Records recognition as a testament not only to Goa’s rich coastal devotional traditions but also to the state’s efforts in blending culture, spirituality, and community engagement. Festival leaders believe such achievements elevate Goa’s spiritual profile nationally and internationally.

The inclusion of the Samudra Aarti in the World Book of Records marks a new chapter in highlighting how traditional practices rooted in devotion and communal harmony continue to resonate across borders.
