Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena

Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena (Founder President of Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre) Leh- Ladakh (J&K), India has been honoured  by World Book of Records, London for promoting world peace through World Peace Conference along with 200 monks of Thailand at Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre. Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena was bestowed with the certificate of honour  at Shanti Stupa by guests including H.E. Mr. Chutintorn Gongsakdi (High Commissioner, Royal Thai Embassy), H.E. Austin Fernando (High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in India), Shri Satya Pal Malik (Governor of Jammu and Kashmir) and Shri Santosh Shukla (President, World Book of Records, London were guests of the ceremony

In this conference around 500 dignitarie from UK, USA, Canada, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Nepal, Chez,Ireland, Brunei  and India.

The Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) is a great example of one man's vision turning into reality. It was established in 1986 to offer both spiritual instructions as well as desperately needed humanitarian services to impoverished people in the remote land of Ladakh. "The world has so much of aggression and violence, the most urgent need in this world is peace. In this three-day conference, Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre kept a motive to inspire people for world peace.

Padh Yatra let by Most Venerable Phrateppariyattisuthi  Thongsukas, reached Leh and they attended the International Conference on “World Peace, 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Preservation of Cultural Heritage of the Himalayas’’ .
