Doha, Qatar – Renowned mountaineer and member of Qatar’s ruling family, Sheikha Asma Al Thani, has been awarded the prestigious Certificate of Excellence by the World Book of Records. The honor was presented by official Sagar Katwal in recognition of her groundbreaking achievements in mountaineering and adventure.
Sheikha Asma holds the distinction of being the first Qatari woman to summit some of the world’s most formidable peaks, including Mt. Everest, K2, Ama Dablam, and the eight-thousanders Manaslu and Lhotse, all accomplished without the use of supplemental oxygen. She also made history as the first Qatari to ski to the North Pole and complete the esteemed Explorers Grand Slam, a feat that includes scaling the highest peaks on each continent and skiing to both the North and South Poles.
