\r\n\tQuirze Codina Estevadeordal, an artist from Barcelona, Spain, has made history in the realm of sand art by setting a remarkable world record. He created the largest Mandala ever recorded, spanning an impressive 3200 square meters, on Santander's Playa de Mataleñas Beach. Armed only with a Gardner's rake and a rope, Quirze completed this monumental artwork in just five hoursand has been included in the Golden Edition of the World Book of Records.<\/p>\r\n
\r\n\tQuirze's inspiration for this ambitious project stems from his love for ephemeral art and its symbolic nature. He views his achievement as a playful pursuit and hopes that someone will surpass his record and experience the same joy and fulfillment he felt. According to Quirze, sand art cannot be learned from books. It requires curiosity, a sense of proportion and geometry, and experimentation. Creating sand art is a source of pure pleasure for him, as the artwork fades away shortly after completion, offering emotional rewards that money cannot buy.<\/p>\r\n
\r\n\tBeyond the artistic dimension, Quirze's pursuit of this record was inspired by a deeply personal motivation. His wife's battle with cancer served as a catalyst, propelling them on a shared journey to create a documentary entitled "Between Tides." Through this film, they aim to share their story and emphasize the transformative power of personal choice in attaining happiness. The record-breaking sand art creation holds profound significance within the narrative of their documentary, underscoring its role as a testament to resilience and the pursuit of joy.<\/p>\r\n
\r\n\tDuring the creation process, Quirze worked alone for four hours, accompanied by his wife. The beach was closed for their exclusive use. Approximately 500 people gathered on nearby cliffs to witness the spectacle, adding to the collaborative energy of the artwork.<\/p>\r\n
